for what value of alpha the system of equations qquad alphax+3y=alpha-3 12x+alpha y=alpha

 Solution

αx+3y=α−3 ........(i)

12x+αy=α    ..........(ii)

according to Question given no solution

so use condition 

a1/a2 = b1/b2 ≠ c1/c2

α/12 =3/α  ≠ α−3/α\

α^2=36

α=+6,-6 

(+6 is not support because put in above condition all are equal means for value of α= +6 put in condition

a1/a2 = b1/b2 ≠c1/c2 not satified) 

so,α=-6 Ans
