 Solution 

Given that 

Second(2nd) term of an AP=17

a2 =17

a+d =17 ...............(i)

Eighth term of an AP=1

a8 =1

a+17d=1.............(ii) 

from Equation (i) & (ii)

a+d =17 ...............(i)

a+17d=1.............(ii) 

After solving Equation (i) & (ii) 

a=18

d=-1 

the 14th Term (a14)

 =a+13d

=18+13(-1) 

=18-13

=5

The 7th term of an arithmetic sequence is 34 and 15th term is 66 then what is the common difference

Solution:-

Given that

7th term of an arithmetic sequence is 34

 a7 =34

a+6d=34 .................(i)

15th term is 66 

a15 =66

a+14d=66 .................(ii)

from Equation (i) & (ii) 

 a+6d=34 .................(i)

a+14d=66 .................(ii)

After solving Equation (i) & (ii) 

a=10

d=4
