What is the condition of quadratic equation to have real roots?

Condition

 Quadratic Equation to have real roots if discriminant is

  •  positive (d>0)
  •  Equal to Zero(d=0)

Because, Formula of Quadratic Equation for finding the roots is

x1=(-b + ✓d)/2a

x2=(-b - ✓d)/2a

For Example -1 we put value of d=16

x1=(-b + ✓16)/2a

x1=(-b + 4)/2a (Root is real)

 For Example -2 we put value of d=0

x2=(-b + ✓0)/2a

x2=(-b + 0)/2a

x2=(-b)/2a (Root is real)
