A body is thrown vertically upwards with a velocity u, the greatest height h to which it will rise is:

Soln:- given initial velocity =u

Final velocity(v) =0(at greatest height)

and gravitation acceleration=-g(because g is opposite to velocity of the object

According to question,

We know that v^2=u^2-2gh

⇒(0)^2=u^2-2gh

⇒0=u^2-

⇒2gh=u^2

⇒h=u^2/2g
