 Question 1. Write two uses each of concave, convex and plane mirrors.

Answer-

Use of concave mirror-

• To see the face for shaving,
• Doctors use it to detect internal diseases by focusing light inside the ears, mouth etc.
• In the headlights of motor vehicles

Use of convex mirror- 

• As a side mirror
• As reflective surface in road lights.
• In producing diverging rays.

Two uses of plane mirror-

• As reflective surface in solar cooker.
• To see the face.

Question 2. Why is a convex lens called a converging lens?

Answer:- convex lens is called a converging lens i.e. all the incident rays moving parallel to the axis are refracted from the lens and converge at a point (F) on the principal axis. Hence a convex lens is called a converging lens.
